GTQ Adventure Day

In each of the five countries we visit, we will have an Adventure Day. The first day in each country will be an excursion-adventure day filled with a unique experience that each country has to offer including the culture, the food, the adventures, and the people. We will have professionally guided excursions that may include cage-diving with great white sharks in Cape Town, South Africa; going on a Ngorongoro Crater safari; enjoying an African Braai and Masaai dance; snorkeling with seals; visiting Hobbiton from Lord of the Rings; snorkeling the Rainbow Reef in Fiji; visiting Machu Picchu in Peru; zip-lining above a canopy of ancient trees in Rotorua, New Zealand; jumping off waterfalls in Fiji; visiting unique national monuments, world heritage sites, and museums; and more!

At any time during these adventures or excursions, an advantage is hidden for the teams to look for along the way, getting them closer to the treasure on competition day. So everyone must always be alert and looking for ways to increase their chances at winning.

The "Day 1" experience in each country is incredibly diverse and enriching, offering each participant a taste of the unique adventures, experiences, and culture that each destination has to offer. Here are some key points about these adventures:

  1. Diverse Activities: The activities range from thrilling adventures like great white shark cage diving to more cultural experiences such as attending traditional ceremonies. This diversity ensures that participants get a well-rounded experience of each country.

  2. Professionally Guided Excursions: Participants can enjoy these activities with a sense of safety and expertise, enhancing the overall experience.

  3. Unique Experiences: Each country's excursion is designed to showcase what makes that place special. Whether it's a safari in Tanzania, zip-lining in Peru, or snorkeling with seals in Cape Town, participants can expect an adventure that's tailored to the region's unique offerings.

  4. Hidden Advantage: We add an element of intrigue and competition to the Adventure Day. Participants must stay alert and observant, as a hidden advantage can bring them closer to the ultimate treasure.

  5. Cultural Immersion: Cultural opportunities, including music, dance, and traditional ceremonies, are a great way for participants to connect with the local culture and gain a deeper understanding of the places they visit.

  6. Traditional Foods: Trying traditional foods is an integral part of cultural immersion. Participants will have the opportunity to savor the flavors of each country, adding a culinary dimension to their travel experience.

These "Day 1" adventures and excursions combine the thrill of adventure with cultural exploration, making it a unique and enriching journey. The hidden advantage adds an extra layer of excitement to the exploration of each country, making it a truly engaging and memorable travel adventure.

Safety

Safety is our top priority throughout the Global Treasure Quest! If someone is uncomfortable doing a specific adventure, task, dare, excursion, etc., they may opt out and choose another option we will have available. All adventures are sought out for their safety recommendations and reviews. We will have a fully loaded first-aid kit and a medical professional available for needs that may occur in each country. In the case of an emergency during our time in each country, each participant must have health travel insurance in place during the Global Treasure Quest event. Our in-country contacts will have a list of clinics and hospitals that we could use in case of injury or emergencies.

Global Treasure Quest keeps in constant contact with all travel warnings concerning each country we visit. Before we leave, we will register our group with STEP and log our itinerary with the state departments of each country where we are traveling. Covid vaccinations, masking, quarantines, or testing are not required to be part of the GTQ event, but if there are changes and requirements are needed for specific countries, we will make that information available to you.

Lastly, we carry international insurance for each member in case there is an emergency illness, accident, death, or medical evacuation; and the coverage will pay for your transportation to the nearest appropriate medical facility. The repatriation component of your insurance will cover the cost of returning you to your own country, if needed.
